Connor McDavid to Maple Leafs trade rumor: Why the viral claim faces red flags

A remored social media post claims that Connor McDavid asked to be traded from the Edmonton Oilers to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Fans of the NHL have not missed this. Reports have it that the trade that sends him to Edmonton would also bring John Tavares and Morgan Rielly. But we must remember that the account is parodic, and that there are no credible reporters to back up the blockbuster claim, so it should not be treated as real news.
