The Kansas City Current launched a free youth soccer league in July to help children overcome financial barriers to sports. The program provides 120 players aged 8 to 10 with uniforms, Nike cleats and equipment at no cost. The league aims to expand access, support local families and encourage greater participation, particularly among girls.
